INCREASED TAX RETURNS.' „ WASHINGTON, April 6. President Hoover announced to-day that _ Treasury reports indicated that the income taxes of corporations collected for the fiscal year 1930 . would not fall below the 1929 collections, while individual taxes would exceed those last collected. “The "result is most gratifying,?’ Mr Hoover added. “It' indicates that the unfortunate developments of last autumn .did not affect individual incomes . to the extent that many had feared, nor did they prevent tht corporations reporting substantially higher net incomes.” • Mr Hoover stressed the importance of continued economy. He announced that he had authorised a 375-million dollars road construction bill, which i would provide work for 125,000 men immediately.
