STATE MONOPOLY.
SWISS LIQUOR REFERENDUM. Received April 7, 10.5 a.m. GENEVA, April 7. A referendum resulted in 487,340 voting in favour of a State monopoly in the manufacture of alcohol, and 314.316 against. The law enables the Swiss Government to limit the sale of liquor in rural districts, where strong opposition is expected.
