NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE.

SHIPMENTS TO BRISTOL. Direct importation of New Zealand dairy produce to the provincial ports is evidently affording encouragement and giving satisfaction to Bristol people (writes a London correspondent).. “We have recently recorded the--arrival, of two liners from New Zealand,” says the Bristol Times and Mirror, “bringing the first shipment of dairy produce to Avon- . mouth. The first of these was the Ruapehu, and this vessel has lifted the biggest shipment to date. This totalled -607 tons, made up of 413 tons of cheese 'find 184 tons of butter. This quaritity is now exceeded by the shipment aboard the Cornwall, which is bringing to Avonmouth 751 tons—474 tons of cheese and 277 tons of butter. The local representative of a big firm of provision importers expressed gratification' at the manner in which direct imports of New Zealand daily produce were developing. ‘The shipment of 1000 tons .total was in prospect,’ lie said, .‘and when that is realised our ambition will advance accordingly.’ The growth'of the business to a level comriierisurate with the handling and distributing capabilities of Bristol might reasonably be expected, and when that gratifying stage is reached the port of Bristol will have become a fully recognised market for provisions. Moreover, it will bring back to Bristol a large measure of that prsperity which was hers when the import of provisions from Canada was at its zenith.”
