RUSSIAN PLACE NAMES.
RELIGIOUS FLAVOUR ELIMINATED. RIGA, March 31. The Soviet is engaged in altering place names with a- religious flavour. The towns of Sergievo and Bogorodsk, the former recalling St. §ergius and the latter meaning “Our Lady’s Town,” have been renamed Sagorsk and Noginsk, in lronour of Communist celebrities.
