CARILLONNEUR SECURED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 23. During the recent visit of Mr Barrow Cadbury to New Zealand, opportunity was taken to approach him with references to securing the services of Mr Clifford Ball. England’s premier carillonneur, for the opening recitals in Wellington of the Wellington memorial carrilon. Word has now been received by cable that the proposal has been agreed to. The firm has offered the services of Mr Ball at what practically amounts to no cost to New Zealand, his salary and travelling expenses being provided for by Cadbury’s, Ltd. Mr Ball is the official carillonneur for the Bournville carillon and was loaned frequently by Messrs Cadbury Bros, for the playing of the Wellington carillon at the Newcastle-on-Tyne. It is thought that the opening will be between next Novembor and February.
