COLOGNE. March 22. The amalgamation of the HamburgAmerika and North German Lloyd lines is forecasted. The basis of the merging of interests will be that for the next fifty years each company will remain independent, the vessels sailing under their old flags, but as many as possible from each company will be placed on important routes, eliminating the building of new vessels, enabling the development of new routes,' and diminishing expenditure on unprofitable routes. The receipts will be equally divided.
