The Bunnythorpe B tennis team played a friendly match with the Taonui Club on tho local courts on Saturday afternoon resulting in a win for the Bunnythorpe Club. Afternoon tea was provided and a most enjoyable time was spent. The results were as follow, the Bunnythorpe players being mentioned first: — Men’s Singles.—E. Duthie 5 lost to E. Jefferies 6, H. Robson 6 beat L. Benge 3, B. Williamson 6 beat K. Tait 2, H. Godfrey 6 beat F. Heard 0. Ladies’ Singles.—Miss Patience 6 beat Miss Bengo 6, Mrs Jackson 6 beat Miss Baxter 1, Miss Scheidt 2 lost to Miss Heard 6, Miss Mitchell 6 lost to Miss Peterson 5. , . , , Men’s Doubles. —E. A meeting of the Domain Board took placo on Friday. Present: Messrs J. Scheidt (chairman), G. M. Ranson, C. Anderson, R. C. Powell, W. T. Maxwell, J. M. Clevely and W. B. Duthie. The ground committee was instructed to have hedges and trees trimmed first. A deputation from the Football Club, consisting of Messrs L. Pascoe and W. Andrew, waited on the board regarding the lighting of the ground for teams to train in the evening. The request was favourably considered and it was decided to have the necessary work done. A deputation from the Sports Club, consisting of Messrs J. Smith, J. O’Donnell, F. Jackson and W. Andrew, waited on the board with a view to getting the cycle track on the reoreation ground improved and also the centre running track. The board decided to meet the Sports Club on thjp ground to fully go into the question and to try and meet their requirements.
