DEATH OF CHILD.

KNOCKED DOWN BY VAN. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 22. Following injuries as a result of being knocked down by a motor van last evening, Eunice Amelia Wood, aged Six, whose parents reside in Wood Street, Ponsonby, died in hospital this morning. ' The father of the child, Mr Charles Holmes Wood, stated in evidence at the inquest that deceased, with two other children, were crossing the road at a street junction, when a van driven by Wallace George Ross was approaching. Two of the children ran back, and Eunice Wood ran forward. She was knocked down and sustained injuries to her head and a fractured thigh. f _ Further hearing was adjourned.
