PRIVATE ENTERPRISE.
RAILWAYS IN N.S.W. MINISTER’S STATEMENT. Received March il, 10.39 a.m. SYDNEY, March 11. The State Treasurer, Mr B. S. Stevens, indicated to-day that in future the railways might be conducted by private enterprise. Mr Stevens said that the time was i*.it far distant when the sheer disability of the Government to find the necessary money for railway construction would compel ,t to allow private concerns to do these things.
