MANGATAINOKA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MANGATAINOKA, March 7. Tho Mangatainoka Women’s Institute held tho annual mooting in the Library Hall. Miss Reid presided and there was a very good attendance. Tho president gave a report on last year’s work and thanked all who had in any way holped to make the year a success. Mr Redmond was reappointed auditor for the coming year. Tho financial report and balancesheet were read and adapted. The changing of tho afternoon back to Thursday was discussed at some length and the majority decided that Thursday was tho most popular day, the meeting to start at 1.45 p.m. It was proposed by Mrs Kelly and seconded by Mrs Pilkinton that a lady be appointed to enquire into the cleaning of the hall and charges for same and the matter will be discussed at next meeting. Mrs Walker was nominated for the executive committee of the federation. Tho delegates to the annual meeting aro Mrs Cook and Mrs Williams. Mrs Milne’s proposal that every third person should move when the bell was rung was carried. It was decided that the potatoes be dug between the 17th and tho 22nd inst, Mrs Walker to witness the digging and weighing. After some discussion members decided to have cakes, etc., bought for the aftornoon teas and each member to pay 6d and any surplus money to go to tho institute fund. The following officers wero elected : —President, Mrs Walker; committee, Mrs Morris, Mrs Tait, Mrs Milne, Mrs Kerrison, Mrs Redmond, Mrs Howell, Mr& Bicknell, Miss Reid, Miss Kelly. A motion of sympathy was extended by members to Mrs Kerrison in her sad bereavement and tho secretary was instructed to forward a letter convoying the samo. During tho afternoon Mrs Morris presented tho president and secretary with a beautiful and originn* posy of marzapans and Dennison paper. Her kind act was much appreciated. Mrs Milne supplied tho music. Tho singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
