ARATIKA-COLYTON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) ARATIKA, Feb. 24. Although Saturday morning dawned showery and grey, tho day developed into an ideal one for the Aratika School picnic, which was held among tho beautiful scenery on the riverside at “Grassmere,” Colyton, by the kind permission of Mr H. Hocken. A largo number were present and a most enjoyable time was spent in games, races and swimming. A dainty luncheon and afternoon tea were served. Local residents and others contributed most generously toward the prize fund and some beautiful trophies were awarded to the winners of the different events. The children gave hearty cheers for all who assisted in making their picnic so enjoyable—the committee and more especially their teacher, Miss Kelling, who worked so untiringly to ensure for the scholars a happy outing.
