PROHIBITION LAW.
DEMAND FOR REFERENDUM. WASHINGTON, Feb. 22. Mr Mead, in the House of Represen* tatives to-day, made a demand for a national referendum on prohibition. Mr Mead stated: I predict that the next President will allow the American people an opportunity to express their views in a nation-wide referendum.”
