FATAL PARACHUTE JUMP.
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 23. Fred Mahan, prominent welterweight boxer and a deaf and dumb mute, plunged to his death in a five thousand feet parachute jump from an aeroplane. The parachute jump was undertaken in an effort to regain his hearing.
