FINES INFLICTED.
Pleas of guilty were entered by Henry Cooper, aged 55, to charges of drunkenness and a breach of his prohibition order, on February 24, when lie appeared before Mr J. L. Stput, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. A fine of 10s, in default 48 hours’ imprisonment, was imposed on the first charge, and accused was fined £1 and costs for the breach of his order. Defendant asked for time to find the money. Senior-Sergeant Whitehnuse opposed the application, stating that defendant would immediately go and get drunk again. He had lost all his will power, and the only thing for him appeared to be the island. There were two further charges pending. Defendant’s application was fefused.
