EXHIBITOR’S COMPLAINT.
ATTENTION TO STOCK. ALLEGATION OF LAXITY. Complaint of inattention to the arrival of his stock for exhibiton was made by Mr H. Bond, of Rangiotu, in a letter to the general committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association to-day. “When I wrote to you regarding meeting mv stock at the*station and conveying feed, etc., to the showgrounds, no one came to assist the man in charge,” wrote Mr Bond. “He had to get someone at work to make three trips on his cycle. There is little wonder that your entries are falling away.” Mr Bond further stated that the committee promised, if he would enter, that they would see to it that the exhibits were looked after. He was so disgusted with the local show that he would not exhibit there again. Mr D. Buchanan stated that there was unfortunately a delay owing to the man engaged to attend to the stock assisting at the steer-riding competition. Had the exhibitor waited a further half-hour it would have been all right. Mr L. B. Wall stated that some blame should be attached to the man responsible. Mr Buchanan stated that the cjrcutmasnces would not occur again. He would see that the stock drivers attended to their duties in future. Mr Carter stated that he understood the men concerned attached themselves to the steer-riding competition without authority. “It is to be regretted that any exhibitor should have cause for becoming disgruntled,” stated the chairman (Mr J. Linklater, M.P.). It was decided that a letter of explanation should be forwarded.
