ST. ANDREW’S CHURCH.

ANNUAL PICNIC. The weather on Saturday was at its best on the occasion of St. Andrew’s annual picnic at the Ashhurst Domain. A large number of children with parents and friends left by the morning train and were later in the day joined by a considerable number of people who travelled by car. It had been hoped to make the picnic one not only for the children, but a congregational function as well, and those responsible for carrying out the arrangements were much gratified by the large number of adults as well as by the increased number of children present. During the afternoon the parents and grown-up friends were the guests of the teaching staff of the Sunday schools, when a dainty afternoon tea was served in the dining-room. This little time of social intercourse was much enjoyed bv all. The river was attractive to quite a band of bathers and paddlers, who at one part of the afternoon were escorted thither by the minister and other friends. Altogether a most enjoyable dav was spent, and there were many wiio expressed the opinion that it was “the best picnic we have ever had.”
