HOTEL DESTROYED.

The Masonic Hotel at Havelock was totally destroyed by fire on Saturday. It was a wooden building of eighteen rooms, owned by the Marlborough Brewery Co., and is insured for £ISOO. There is also £3OO insurance on the furniture. The licensee, Mr T. M. Sandifortl, has insurances for £273 and £l7O on tire stock and contents. Tho entire contents, including tho boarders’ effects, etc., were destroyed. A general store opposite the hotel, conducted by Mr E. Howard Smith, was badly damaged by fire, smoke and water. This building, owned by Brownlee and Co., Wellington, is insured for £IOOO. Mr Smith is covered for £2125 on the stock. The premises of Mr S. C. Dibrew, baker, and Mr W. H. Orsman, storekeeper, suffered minor damage.
