FEILDING.

CRICKET. B. GRADE GAME. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, Feb. 24. In the B. grade cricket games on Saturday Feilding defeated Nondescripts on the first innings. Batting first, Feilding made 182, F. Dewo 59, Baldock 46, 11. J. Dewo 24, Mclntosh 10 and Tremaine 15, being the chief contributors to the tally. Nondescripts made 44, Bramwell providing 31 of the runs. Neilson was particularly destructive with tho ball, securing an average of eight wickets for 14 runs. Nondescripts batted again and compiled 109, Brainwoll again: making top score of 29, while Gampboll and Sandford made 20 and 19 respectively NEXT SATURDAY’S PLAY. The resumption of the A grade games next Saturday will bo awaited with interest when no doubt all attention will bo focussed on tho Public Service—Old Boys struggle, the result of the meeting of Feilding and Colyton being already a foregone conclusion. Public Sorvico will bo keen to retain their unbeaten lead in the local championship, while as runnersup the colts will bo equally keen to bring about the defeat of the present premior eleven in the Feilding competitions. As the scores stand now, Public Service have made up their first innings deficiency and arc eight runs on in their second innings for the loss of one wicket. Theirs is the hardest part as, colloquially speaking, tho colts aro “on the box seat.” Public service will have to force tho pace to make a substantial score in their second attempt and then get the colt out before time with a smaller tally to secure a threo point win. A three point win to the colts will put them one point ahead of Public Service and a two point will place the two teams level so that the result of this game will be followed closely.
