BILLIARD INCIDENT.

ARGUAIENT DURING AIATCH. Following an incident, probably unprecedented in professional billiards, the famous Australian billiardist, Walter Lindrum, and the Englishman, AA : illie Smith, heatedly argued during their match at Alanchester, and left the building hurriedly. AA’hen Lindrum had reached 47, with the balls in an excellent position Smith claimed a foul because Lindrum was playing the wrong ball. Lindrum protested that it was not his mistake. The marker ruled in favour of Smith. Lindrum, when interviewed, denied any connection between the incident anil the argument. “The latter was over a private matter,” he said.
