BOXING.
SPARRING OPERATIONS. ’ NEW YORK, Feb. 20. A. telegram from Miami states: “It is not generally revealed, but it is understood that in yesterday’e sparring Phil Scott received a blow from Jack Renault, his partner, that put the contender down for the count. Few spectators were present. Although it is understood a photographer snapped a picture, the manager explaimed that Scott had slipped and received the impact of the missed lead. He dismissed the incident as of no importance, although fighting circles here express much surprise.”
