FEDERAL POLITICS.
SYDNEY, Sept. 3. In the course of his speech at the Constitutional Association yesterday, Mr Bruce stated: “There is no schism in the Federal National Party. The Government is going ahead with the Budget and the repeal of the Federal Arbitration Acte.”
Should the Government be defeated on arbitration, he would immediately hand in his resignation and the Commonwealth would have to find another Government..
NO SUCCESSOR TO AIR BRUCE,
CANBERRA, Sept. 3.
Speaking at a dinner last evening, Mr Abbott, Minister of Home Affairs, stated: “As I see it there is no successor to the present Prime Minister. Any other leader produced by treachery or rebellion would be rendered impotent by the inevitable ties of an unholy alliance.”
