FEILDING
HOCKEY DANCE. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING, Aug. 31. The plain and fancy dress dance held by the Kia Ora Hockey Club on Thursday night proved a complete success. Mr C. Martin was M.C., while a professional orchestra supplied the dance music. During tne evening there were many novelties. The winners of the Monte Carlo waltz were Miss E. Anderson (Feilding), and Mr McLean (Auckland), and of the lucky spot waltz. Miss E. Stewart and Mr A. Fidler.- Mrs Firth, Mr W. Print, Mr A. Fidler and others played extras for the dances. VALEDICTORY. At the conclusion of the Feilding sale yesterday a pleasing little function took place in Messrs Dalgety and Coy’s office when Mr "VV. E. Robbie, who has been transferred on promotion from the local branch to Wanganui, was met by his fellow employees of the Palmerston North district of the firm and presented with ;a leather suit case and a silver cigarette case. Mr Robbie has been for some years at the Feilding office, and his genial disposition and couitesy have won him many friends who will be pleased to learn of his promotion. PERSONAL. His many friends will regret to learn that Mr E. H. Fisher, of Feilding, underwent a serious operation last night. To-day he was reported to be progressing favourably.
