FLOOD RECEDING.
MASTERTON. Aug. 27. The main road between Featherston and Martinborongh where it was washed out in tho recent floods is now repaired and opened for all traffic. The flood waters have receded at Pahautea and Pukio and vehicles are able to get in from the Pukio end, but lower down tho valley there are still large areas under water and it will probably bo some days yet before is gets away. No big losses of stock have been reported as the settlers had ample warning.
