ACCIDENT TO STEAMER.
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND,. Aug. 26. An accident befel the steamer Canadian Transporter, which, left Auckland for New York, Boston and Montreal on July 9. When the vessel was nearly midway between Auckland and Panama, two blades of the propeller were broken. It was thought that the steamer would have to go to Callai, Peru, for repairs. According to cable advice however, she reached Panama on July 18, after a 40 days’ passage from Auckland. Repairs will be effected at Panama before the voyage is resumed.
