LINTON.

LINTON, July 29. On Wednesday evening a farewell social Was held in the Linton Hall. In spite of the wet weather a large crowd of residents attended to farewell Mr and Mrs Paget and family who are leaving the district shortly to take lip their residence in Takapau. Between the dances, vocal items were rendered by Mrs T. Lynch, Miss Blake, Miss Joy Hallman, Mr Hook and Mr Allwright. and recitation by Miss Madge Lyneh. During the evening Mr T. Lynch spoke of the valuable service Mr Paget had rendered on various committees in Linton —the School Committee, the Sports Committee and the Church (Committee. Ho then on behalf cf the Linton residents presented Mr and Mrs Paget with a set of cutlery as a token tof the high esteem in which they had been held during the ten years they had lived here. Mr Paget suitably responded. Mr M. Rix carried out the duties of M.C., and the dance music was supplied by Mrs Merriman, Misses Batchelar, Irvine, Blake, Currin, Simmons and Messrs J. L. Nash, A. Terry, L. Wilson and C. Wilson.
