BIBLE CLASS RALLY. fFrom Our Own Correspondent.) ASHHURST, July 29. ; Tho Ashhurst Methodist Young Womens Bible Class held their annual social in the Town Hall on Thursday evening, when a highly successful function eventuated. Ihero was a record attendance of ypung people from all round the district, Dannevirke, Woodville, Pahiatua, Palmerston North. Foilding and Bunnythorpe all sending con tingents, while there was a good attendance of Ashhurst Yloung People. Rey. F. J. Parker was in charge and kept things going with a swing. Spirited games, exciting competitions and interesting items were enjoyed by all. An amusing chon competition created great merriment and produced some weird harmonies. At the roll call the chairman accorded a very hearty welcome to all the visitors and expressed the appreciation of the Ashhurst classes at the largo attendance. Items were contributead by Misses E. and G. Dunham (pianoforte duet) and Miss L. Fraser and Mies M. Tremowan (recitations) while Miss Iris Fenwick presided at the piano for most of the games music. A dainty supper was provided by the local young ladies, after which a mtost successful social was brought to a close by the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
