ARCHBISHOP’S PLEA.
Per Pi-ess Association: CHRISTCHURCH, June 3. Preaching at the Anglican Cathedral yesterday on the occasion of the South African War memorial service, Archbishop Julius urged the returned soldiers to stand up and tell the people what war really was. If that was done, then the people would take some notice. The politicians were always trying to make the pyramid stand on its apex, which was termed the balance of power, and then it came toppling over and there was a w r ar. Many and many a man had lost his life in the Gi’eat War, and many and many a man had grown fat on it, and made profit out' of the sorrows of mankind. The Archbishop made a plea for men to stand together for uprightness, for truth and equity.
