M. CLEMENCEAU’S OPINION CRITIC)ISM OF MR LLQYD GEORGE.
(Australian Press Association.) LONDON, May 14. The Daily Express’s correspondent had a special interview with M. Clemenceau to-day. M. Clemenceau was asked : What do you think of the result of the British elections F
M. Clemenceau replied: I think Mr Baldwin will win. “But wlrat about the women’s vote ?” queried the correspondent. M. Clemenceau then asked the correspondent: “Who do' you think will win ?”
“I think Mr Lloyd George will be the sensation'of the election,” the correspondent replied. M. Clemenceau’s eyes hardened. “I’ll tell you about this Lloyd George. Ho is unstable and knows not what he wants. But I know what he wants. It is violence.” With that M. Clemenceau rose and put his hands on the neck of th© correspondent and shook him. , The correspondent asked: “Is it true that you "have quarrelled with Mr Lloyd George? “The Tiger” laughed, and said: “Yes, indeed. Once we nearly fought. President Wilson walked between us and pushed us apart.”
