GERMAN POLITICS.

COALITION CABINET LIKELY. (Australian Press Association.) BERLIN, April 9. The formation of a Grand Coalition Cabinet is now believed to be assured. This follows upon an agreement among the parties; it is*lioped that it will avert the imposition of fresh taxation by securing a reduction in the Budget deficit. Drastic cuts in the Army and Navy expenditure will result in the saving of £1,600,000. The Air estimates will be reduced by £1,000,000. As a result of the cuts the deficit of £30,000.000 will now be £6,500,000 at which the People’s Party is reported to be satisfied. The party originally demanded that the Budget be balanced.
