MANAWATU CLUB’S TOURNEY.

FIRST ELIMINATING ROUNDS,

[ The first elimination rounds of the | championship, Hokowhitu handicap and ! consolation handicap were played on ? the Hokowihtu links this morning—the f second day of the Manawatu Golf | Club’s Easter tourney. [, Playing against F. C. Christensen, 1. IH. Horton, amateur New Zealand I champion, found a sturdy opponent in • ( the qpen championship, but won his i game two and one. Horton carded par fours at the first three holes, standing ! 3 up at the third. Four were required at the next hole, where Christensen took the hole in par 3.
