A COLD SNAP
FOR EASTER HOLIDAYS. SHARP DROP IN TEMPERATURE. Although the weather during Easter has not been ideal, conditions have not been altogether unfavourable, and the fixtures arranged have been proceeded with without postponement or mterlUAccording to Mr T. R. Moore, of “Wannai'ama,” Terrace End, the teinperature has dropped 30 or 40 degrees since the rain set in on March 27, and last night the temperature recorded was 40 degrees, compared with 8U degrees in the shade on Thursday. This morning the temperature was 51 degrees. . There were many attractions for the public to-day in the field of sport. Races were held at Feilding and the Caledonian sports were in progress at the Showgrounds, while there were cricket matches, including the Hawke Clip game, which was continued from Saturday. In addition the golf, soccer and bowling tournaments weye proceeding, and a gala was held at Tangimoana beach.
