CROQUET.
LOCAL PLAYERS’ SUCCESSES AT HASTINGS. Miss J. McFarlane and Mrs E. Simpson, of the Taltaro Croquet Club, returned home on Friday afternoon from Hastings, where they took part in the Hawke’s Bay croquet tournament. Miss McFarlane won the A grade handicap singles, and, partnered by Mrs Simpson, won the handicap doubles. Miss McFarlane reached the semi-finals of the ladies’ championship. Mrs Simpson won the B grade handicap singles.
