REPARATIONS PROBLEM.
GERMANS MUST DEFINE ATTITUDE. PARIS PAPER’S CRITICISM. (Australian Press Association). PARIS, March 29. According to the Petit Parisien the Reparation Conference has declared that there has been enough beating about the bush. Germans must define their attitude or allow the conference to break up. They have been handed a memorandum outlining the suggestions of the Allied countries, which can be discussed as a minimum, and asking Herr Schacht to reflect dur- # ing Easter on the immense disadvantage to Germany of a final rupture.” A message from Paris earlier this week stated that a serious hitch was anticipated, as Herr Schacht, who went to Berlin to report progress on tho negotiations, had returned with an offer which was believed to be so low as to be unacceptable.
