NEW WORLD’S RECORDS. SOME FINE PERFORMANCES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, March 3. At the motor-cycle races at Devonport Percy Coleman, on a 7 h.p. machine, covered a flying mile in 44 4-5 sec.—a world’s record. C. Goodwin, on a 21 h.p. machine, established a world’s record for middle-weight machines by covering a flying mile in 47 3-ssec. R. Ranby, on a 3} h.p, machine covered a flying mile in 46 4-5 sec .—A New Zealand record. A race of three miles between an aeroplane piloted by Lieutenant lan Keith and a motor-cycle ridden by Coleman proved disappointing. Coleman quickly ran away from the aeroplane, which had difficulty in flying low and turning the corners with safety. Results are as follow: Shore Handicap.—K, Yates, 20socs., 1; 8.
