WORDS AND BLOWS.
ELECTION EXCITEMENT. When Brigadier-General Lloyd and Mr Jack Hoode, the two returned soldier candidates for Parramatta, were in attendance at a returned soldiers’ entertainment in Sydney the other night their respective supporters got excited, and the arguments culminated in blows being struck. Evidence to this effect was given at Parramatta Court, when Michael Smith, 22, a labourer, was charged with riotous behaviour. He was fined 30s.
