NARCOTIC SCANDAL.
ILLNESS OF ACTRESS. The illness of Alma Rubens has furnished Hollywood with its first narcotic scandal of note since Wallace Reid’s death. Alma Rubens started using morphine to allay the pain of an illness last year. Recently she became involved in a street brawl when her motor collided with another^ Physicians say that she has an excellent chance' to recover her health if she will throw off the habit, which has been gradually ruining her screen career. She has been married three times. Her- notebook shows that she spent £3OO in getting drugs from one doctor during January.
