DRAINAGE MATTERS.

MEETINGS OF BOARDS. The Manawatu-Oroua River Board met yesterday, when various matters were discussed. Complaints were received concerning the dumping of cabbage trees in the Manawatu River, and the board decided to hold the offenders liable. It was decided to notify certain property owners to remove willows obstructing the flow of the Oroua River. The Sluggish River Board also met to-day, when it gave an undertaking to Mr Rice, who waited on the board, to consider the matter of improving Lane’s Drain. The board authorised the erection of a new door for Print’s flood-gate.
