SIR A. CHAMBERLAIN.

PLEASANT AMERICAN VISIT. . HAPPIEST MEMORIES. (British Official Wireless.) Received October 30, 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 29. Sir Austen Chamberlain is due to arrive at Victoria (British Columbia) to-day from San Francisco. In the next fortnight he will make short visits to Vancouver, Bluff, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, and he will sail from Quebec for England on November 16. In a farewell message to the United States Sir, Austen Chamberlain said: “I shall carry home the happiest memories of this,. my third, visit to the United States and my first to the Pacific Coast. I pray that our two great nations may continue to live in peace and amity, and that they may achieve ever-increasing sympathy with, and understanding of, each other, and that the friendship thus cemented may serve to promote the peace and prosperity of the world.” Before leaving San Francisco Sir Austen stated: “I start homeward with my health completely restored and ready to resume the heavy, work and great responsibilities which, await me.” Sir Austen Chamberlain expressed gratitude to the people of Cali, forma and to the Press for respecting his wish to keep his visit private.
