Per Press Association
CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 15. An appeal by judges of the New Zealand Trotting Conference was heard on an appeal by the New Brighton Trotting Club against the determination of the New Zealand Trotting Association in reversing the placings of the horses Free Advice and Baron Bingen by the New Brighton Trotting Club and the fining of J. Bryce the sum of £5 pn the ground that he had wilfully violated rule 289. The judges decided that the decision of the association in regard to the placings should stand as on the evidence that Baron Bingen s chances of winning had not been interfered with. As Bryce’s violation of the rule was wilful, the judges suspended his driving license till October 14th, 1928, and further ordered an inquiry into the driving of J. N. Clark.
