FRENCH PRISON ROBBED.

SUPPOSED EX-CONVICTS

(United Service.) LONDON, July 30. A Paris messago states that despite a night-long patrol by warders three bare-footed burglars, supposed exconvicts, entered tho prison at Meliin early this morning and removed from the Governor’s office a safe containing £IOOO, being warders’ wages and prison maintenance funds.

The burglars scaled the wall by means of a ladder taken from an adjacent building, gnawed through iron windowbars, hauled and lowered the safe with ropes, and escaped in a motor car.

Tho safe was found open in a forest seven miles away.
