A BIG CITY.
Cr. P. J. Small, of the Kairanga County Council, optimistically looks forward to tlie time when Palmerston North shall have .all the dignity of a city, and a big one at that. ‘‘There is sufficient land in the borough,” ho declared at to-day s meeting of the council, ‘‘to accommodate eight or ten million people. 1 don’t know whether the city will ever extend as far as I‘ oxton or not, he 'added.
