Received June 12, 12.30 p.m. WASHINGTON, June 11. In a report to the Navy Department on the airplane carrier Lexington it is claimed that the new ship made a speed record when it ran 700 nautical miles from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday, averaging 29.2 knots. A nine hours’ non-stop prayer meeting, with fresh speakers each hour, was opened at Claxton Hall at midnight by opponents of the amended Prayer Book, who asked for guidance for Parliament when considering its fate.
