CASE OF FRANCIS HYDE

(United Service.) Vancouver, May 21

Mr A. E. Skinner, Immigration Commissioner stated to-day that Erancis Raymond Hyde, the New Zealander, was deported at his own request. Every possible aid and kindness had been extended Hyde, who had no money and was desirous of geting to New Zealand, where his only relatives resided. Had he remained in Canada he would have become a public charge. The deportation order enabled Hyde to get transportation home free. Hyde, added Mr Skinner, was sent to the ship on a water bed loaned by the hospital, and the bed was taken aboard for his use until he arrived at his destination. He was taken under the care of- the ship’s physician and given special attention. The accident which resulted so seriously to Hyde occurred about a month after he arrived from New Zealand.
