UNEMPLOYED RELIEF.
WORK FOR 14,000. Received Slay 9, 9.35 a.m. SYDNEY, May 9. The Premier, Mr T. R. Bavin, announced to-day that the Government was providing £1,000,000 for work for the unemployed. Those out of work are estimated to" total 14,000, or three percent. of the total wage earners of NewSouth Wales. BRITISH FIGURES. (British Official Wireless). Received May 9, 10.45 a.m. RUGBY, May 8. The number of unemployed in Britain on April 30 was 1,136,000. This was 73,715 more than a week before, and 114,272 more than a year ago. .
