LADIES’ HOCKEY.
EXECUTIVE AIEETING
At a meeting of the executive of the Alanawatu Ladies’ Hockey Association last night there were present: —Messrs C: Aitchison (chairman), W. Duckworth. F. Amos, Weston Smith, Vasey, G. Wilkinson, W. Broughton. H. D. Alilne, C. Turnbull. Hunt, AY. Scott and J. H. McDowell (secretary). Air Vasey was appointed to represent Oroua Downs in place of Mr Chapman who wrote regretting liis inability to further serve on the executive. The new delegate was welcomed by tlie chairman. The Ohakea representative, Air AVilkinson, took his seat on the executive and was welcomed by the chairman. Airs M. Aitchison wrote accepting the position of patroness and enclosing a donation. Aliss Simpkin wrote accepting the position of vice-president and also enclosing a donation. Both were received with thanks. Tokomaru Club notified that it now had a ground at Tokomaru and applied for home and home matches. The committee decided to inspect the ground before coming to a decision. A similar application from Oroua Downs was dealt with in the same, manner. The C. and C. Club wrote regretting its inability to field a team this year.— Received. The association’s delegate to flic meeting of the New Zealand body. Air AleDowell. reported on the proceedings of that meeting. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Air AleDowell for the excellent cervices he had rendered the association. It was resolved that all delegates approach their clubs regarding the return of trophies belonging to the association. Committees for the June 4 tournament were sot up as follow: —Tournament. committee: Alessrs Vasey (chairman), Turnbull, Amos, Hunt and Smith; protest committee, Alessrs Aitchison, AleDowell and Amos. It was decided that individual trophies be awarded in addition to the association’s cup. On the motion of the chairman it was unanimously decided to send a letter of appreciation to Air Blnckbourn for his services to the association. SAT URDA Y’S FIXTURES. Fixtures for Saturday were made as follow: —Oroua Downs v. BunnyIhorpe, Sportsground, 2 p.m., referees, Alessrs Broughton and Scott; Technical School v. Rongotea, Sportsground, j 2 p.m., referees, Alessrs Amos and Blackbourn; West End Old Girls v. Tokomaru, Sportsground. 3 p.m., referees Afiss de Cleene and Aliss G. Ale- j Ivenzie. j
