STOP-WORK MEETING.
Per Press Association
‘ GREYAIOUTH, Alay 7. The State mine was idle to-day. A stop-work meeting was held, after which all the men went home. The trouble was due to the management refusing to permit a man, who was suspended for refusing to work at a slip on Saturday, to work. In order to enable work to resume a union deputation interviewed the management and requested the man’s reinstatement. This was granted conditionally on the man agreeing to obey instructions. This assurance was forthcoming, and the mine will reopen to-morrow.
