PICTURES ON SUNDAYS.
CASE AT GREYAIOUTH
Per Press Association. GREYMOUTH, Alay 7. Arthur Bebau, manager of j-he Greymouth Pictures, was charged with conducting Sunday pictures; and several officials of the Grey moo ill Bath Committee were charged with assisting. Evidende was given that Beban leased tho hall to the Bath Committee for a Sunday evening at a charge ot £B, the committee making its own arrangements for staff; etc. Air Hannan, solicitor for the defence, quoted the English Sunday Observance Act of 1780 to the effect that the owner or lessee who let a hall to others could not be held liable. The Alagistrate upheld this contention, and dismissed all the charges. It was stated in evidence that Sunday pictures, in the past three years, had secured for tlie Bath Committee over £7OO.
