LINTON NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) LINTON, May 7. An enjoyable leap-year danco was held in tho Linton Hall on Friday evening, the duties of M.C.’s being efficiently carried out by Misses Batchelar and Blake. Tho visitors included a party from Tokomaru. Novelty dances wero indulged in, the winners being: Monte Carlo dance, Miss Campbell vand Mr Stokes, of Tokomaru: lucky spot dance, Miss Kelly and Mr Williams, also of Tokomaru. The ladies are to 1)0 congratulated on their promptitude in selecting partners as soon as tho music began. Tho danco music was supplied by Mrs Sharp, Misses Craw and Simmons, Messrs Gooch, Sharp, jnr., and Nash. During tho ovening a presentation was made to Mr E. Sharp, jnr., who is leaving the district. Tho supper arrangements were in tho hands of a committee of ladies and tho evening concluded with “Auld Lang Syne.” Miss Blake has gone to Hawke’s Bay for her holidays. Messrs D. and K. Gooch leave Wellington for England via Australia on Tuesday.
