In an interview a leading importer attributed the unsatisfactory butter position partly to tho disuse of preservatives as, owing to tho poor keeping quality of butters, retailers were only buying from hand to mouth, showing preference for tho fresher-made Continentals. ... X 1 Some importers aro advising the producers to urge the Australian Government to ask the British Government to remove tho ban on tho use of preservatives.
