EX-MAHARAJAH’S MARRIAGE
COLOMBO, Jan. 13. When pretty Miss Miller, a wealthy San Franciscoo girl, carries out her determination to marry the ex-Ma-liarajah of Indore, she will, with Miss Molly Fink, of Australia, who married the Rajah of Pudukota, be tho only white girl to become the wife of an important Indian ruler of ex-ruler. In addition, she will be only one of her future husband’s wives. Several of the smaller princes have Algerian and Parisian dancing gills in their harems, but none have actually married Europeans, There has been a sensational development, owing to definite news that Indore, accompanied by Miss Miller and her grandmother, has gone to Nuwara Eliya, in tho centre of Ceylon, where they’ are staying at the Grand Hotel. Indore is reported to be ill. On New Year’s Eve, Indore arrived here by the Orsova, accompanied by four members of his staff. He had an interview with his displeased favourite wife, who came to Colombo to meet him.’ She is grief stricken, and returned to India immediately after the interview.
. The ex-Maharajall’s treasurer is accompanying tho party, carrying five lacs of rupees (nearly £40,000). Efforts are still being made in official quarters to prevent the wedding, which will take place according to Hindu rites.
